i couldn't sleep in this morning because i knew today is saturday - THE day for classified job advertisements.

i got up and scanned the whole section, and do you know what i found? two - that's 2 - ads for professional journalists.

but wait, there's more: one is for a sports journalist out in the country (further than swan hill, i'm afraid), and the other is for a an editor/journalist for a meat-industry magazine.

MWAH HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!

Yes, I am going crazy, but I feel I'm entitled about now. i don't think you could possibly get any further away from my interests or know-how, unless you count that job ad i saw yesterday that required extensive knowledge about chocolate and chocolate-making.

for those of you who don't know:

1. i care nothing about sports. well, maybe a tiny something, but nowhere near enough to make a career out of it.

2. i've been vegetarian for almost 7 years now.

3. i hate chocolate, always have. i can't even stand the smell. things made with cocoa powder and not pure chocolate are fine, yet i have no idea why. it just makes things more complicated when i say i love brownies, "chocolate" cake and hershey's syrup (no chocolate - did you know?) but can't stand see's candy, m&m's and most candy bars. weird, i know.

i can think of plenty of things i don't really care about that i wouldn't mind writing about as a career, so why do i have to be tormented by my least favorites?

in other news, simon's friend jay is having a going-away barbecue today. i've been promised a trip to usa foods on the way to the party. i haven't been there in years, but i'm really craving some american soda, namely cherry coke, a&w cream soda and anything grape-flavored. i'll be on the lookout for graham crackers and chocolate frosting in a can (again, no real chocolate!), too.
