my old housemate pats (short for patrina - she hated "pat") sent me an e-mail to say she's moving back to melbourne in january for her master's degree. i really, really, really adore and miss pats, so this can only be a good thing. she was also highly responsible for setting simon and me up, so she's got that going for her as well.

then i got an e-mail from my old high school friend collin, saying that he will be moving to melbourne in january to start up an australian wing of the company he currently works for in toronto. whoa. he's in town to talk to lawyers and scout out warehouses, so he came over to see the apartment last night. my apartment, in australia. [cue scary music] how freaky would that be to have two people from clovis, california, living in this area? too freaky, methinks.

kristy sent an e-mail from hong kong, saying that she'll back for a quick visit in december/january. i miss having her nearby, but simon is probably glad that the phone is not always tied up. kristy and i can't seem to get off the phone, for some reason. or stop eating, for that matter.

the first wave of simon's english family come to visit in three weeks, and then we've got the half-sister, her partner and two kids (who will call us auntie erin and uncle simon, oddly enough) for an entire month in december and january.

i think i will call january an embarrassment of riches. does anyone else want to come for a visit?
