July 01, 2002 - 9:10 p.m. When I got to work this morning, I found this typed-up note wedged between two rows of keys on my computer keyboard:
�� � � � � � � � � � � � � � � HELLO!"Have a nice day"the text was embellished with drawings of a computer and a telephone, each emitting those little lines you draw next to someone or something to indicate movement or excitement. perhaps they were excited to be so thoroughly cleaned/germproofed. p.s. i spent all weekend scrubbing the grimy "new" house. i am tired. the faulty hot water heater is being replaced on thursday, which is the same day our new bed is being delivered. hence, we are officially moving in on thursday. thursday is also independence day in america. meaningful, no? p.p.s. our new bed is rockin. and very expensive. and quite gorgeous, in almost-black wood with a better-than-goose-down comforter, vellux bedspread, deluxe t-shirt sheets and perfect pillows (we tested them all). i also bought egyptian cotton towels because target was having a 20%-off-of-that-kind-of-thing sale.
